Position Description:
The Commercial Lines Insurance Account Executive is responsible for managing and growing a book of commercial insurance business by providing exceptional service, strategic guidance, and proactive account management to clients. This role partners with producers, carriers, and internal team members to ensure clients receive comprehensive coverage solutions that meet their business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial accounts.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients through proactive communication and service excellence.
- Conduct regular account reviews, renewals, and coverage assessments to ensure adequate protection.
Account Management & Service
- Manage all aspects of the client lifecycle, including policy changes, certificates of insurance, endorsements, audits, cancellations, and reinstatements.
- Prepare, market, and present renewal proposals and new business submissions.
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist clients with claims reporting and follow-through, partnering with carriers as necessary.
Underwriting & Carrier Coordination
- Evaluate client exposures and gather information needed for quoting and underwriting.
- Prepare submissions and negotiate terms, pricing, and coverage with carriers.
- Maintain strong carrier relationships to optimize placement strategies and client outcomes.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all client files are maintained in compliance with agency standards, industry regulations, and E&O protocols.
- Document all client interactions and transactions accurately in the agency management system.
Growth & Retention
- Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
- Support producers in securing new business and meeting agency growth goals.
- Maintain high retention levels by delivering exceptional service and strategic insurance solutions.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3 years of commercial lines insurance experience (agency or carrier), preferred.
- Active Property & Casualty license required.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, terminology, and underwriting guidelines.
- Excellent communication, client service, and relationship-building skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with agency management systems (e.g., Applied Epic, AMS360, Vertafore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
