Overview
Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient and safe manufacturing operations. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to meet production goals while following all safety procedures. This is a temp to hire position.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate production equipment and machinery according to specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Inspect products to ensure compliance with quality standards and production requirements.
- Load raw materials and remove finished products from machines.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or quality issues to supervisors.
- Complete production documentation, logs, and reports accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies.
- Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and operating standards.
- Assist with changeovers, equipment setup, and process improvements as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members, maintenance personnel, and supervisors to meet production goals.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
- Experience operating industrial equipment is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and follow written instructions, procedures, and production schedules.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to use measuring tools and gauges.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including exposure to noise, and varying temperatures.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing or production facility.
- May require overtime, weekends, and shift work based on business needs.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
