As we expand our Custom division and launch a large residential community, we are adding a Preconstruction Manager / Estimator to strengthen estimating accuracy, improve design coordination, and support long-term growth.
About the Role
This role supports both Custom and Semi-Custom Production work. You’ll build disciplined estimates, coordinate design details, and create complete, accurate job setups for our Operations team. What You’ll Do
Daily responsibilities include:
- Produce accurate conceptual and detailed estimates for Custom and Production homes
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop clear, disciplined scopes of work
- Manage bid cycles with our trade partners and review proposals for scope completeness
- Coordinate design details with designers, our Selections Manager, and clients
- Prepare Buildertrend-ready job setups using our established templates, including budgets, cost codes, specs, and selections, and refine these templates over time as needed
- Issue all pre-job start purchase orders after budget approval and Notice to Proceed
- Create complete turnover packages for the Project Managers and Superintendents
- Improve systems, templates, and workflows as our preconstruction department evolves

- Proven estimating experience in residential construction
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
- Comfortable with numbers, takeoffs, and spreadsheets
- Positive, collaborative attitude that supports clear communication

- Ability to read and interpret plan sets across multiple disciplines in detail

Preferred:
- Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction software
