Job Overview:
The RV Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining recreational vehicles to ensure they are safe, functional, and ready for customer use. This role requires mechanical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on various RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, propane, and structural components. Proficiency in carpentry is also essential, as many repairs involve interior and exterior structural modifications, cabinetry, and custom installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis & Repair: Inspect, diagnose, and repair RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, propane, structural components, and appliances.
- Carpentry & Structural Work: Perform carpentry tasks such as repairing or installing cabinetry, flooring, paneling, and other custom interior or exterior modifications.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance services including oil changes, battery checks, tire inspections, and safety evaluations.
- Customer Communication: Clearly communicate service findings and repair recommendations to customers or team members, and accurately document all work performed.
- Parts & Inventory Management: Source and order necessary parts, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure tools and materials are well-organized and readily available.
- Team Collaboration & Safety: Work collaboratively with the service team to meet deadlines, follow safety protocols, and stay updated on industry standards and regulations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, propane, and HVAC.
- Skilled in carpentry, including repair and installation of cabinetry, flooring, paneling, and structural modifications.
- Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in tight spaces, and operate power tools safely.
