Provides accurate, efficient, and timely student data services to support district, campus, and departmental operations. Analyzes, designs, and enhances data systems and processes to meet district needs for student and staff information. Manages the automated collection, integration, and distribution of data across multiple platforms and third-party systems. Develops SQL queries, scripts, and workflows to ensure seamless data exchange and system functionality. Oversees database administration and maintenance, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security. Evaluates, tests, and implements improvements to core and enterprise applications. Provides end-user support, documentation, and training to promote effective use of district information systems.Essential Functions/Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Administration & Support:Administers and supports district information systems and applications, including the Skyward Qmlativ Student Information System and Skyward Business Information System.Develops, maintains, and enhances integrations between the district’s student, HR, and business information systems to ensure seamless data exchange and accuracy.Troubleshoots and resolves operational issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective, long-term solutions.Prepares and maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, program development, and procedural guidelines to promote consistent and efficient system use.Data Management & Analysis:Gathers and analyzes user requirements to design and implement effective, functional system solutions.Applies advanced analytical skills to develop end-user tools and processes that enhance operational efficiency.Maintains a high level of accuracy and attention to detail by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving data integrity issues within databases.Utilizes expertise in relational databases and standard query languages (e.g., SQL Server) to extract, analyze, and interpret data for decision-making.Assesses district-wide data management needs and establishes, implements, and maintains database standards and best practices.Ensures data integrity, privacy, and security in compliance with district policies and applicable state and federal regulations, including FERPA and HIPAA.Develops and administers a security roles and responsibilities matrix to manage user access across district systems and applications.Data Systems Coordination and Process Improvement:Proactively monitor and evaluate assigned data systems to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.Collaborate with stakeholders to recommend and implement enhancements that streamline workflows and advance organizational goals.Support large-scale data integration projects across diverse and dissimilar systems.Maintain comprehensive knowledge of system capabilities and best practices to ensure data processes remain effective, current, and aligned with district objectives.Prioritize, track, and manage multiple projects related to data systems and process improvements, ensuring timely progress, clear communication, and alignment with organizational goals.Develop and maintain thorough documentation of systems, procedures, and workflows to promote consistency, knowledge sharing, and long-term sustainability.Additional Responsibilities:Collaborate with IT infrastructure and security teams to ensure integrated systems are secure, reliable, and optimized.Provide technical support and training to end-users and staff to enhance system utilization and efficiency.Deliver accurate and relevant statistical data to management and staff to support ongoing projects and decision-making.Maintain strict confidentiality for all information stored in district systems.Foster and maintain a positive, respectful, and collaborative tone in all communications with internal and external stakeholders.Promote a culture of professionalism by modeling respectful, solution-focused communication and guiding others in best practices.Compile, maintain, and organize reports, records, and other required documentation.Adhere to all applicable federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, board policies, and district regulations.Follow established campus and district routines to ensure compliance and consistency in operations.Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneWorking ConditionsTools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including personal computer and peripherals.Posture: Frequent walking, Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.Motion: Repetitive hand motions, including frequent keyboarding/use of mouse; occasional reaching.Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide travel; occasional statewide and/or out-of-state travel; regular exposure to noise.Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent deadlines; work with frequent interruptions and prolonged or irregular hours.Non-Discrimination Notice: Boerne Independent School District, as an equal opportunity educational provider and employer, does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in educational programs or activities that it operates or in employment decisions.
