What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide position at Choctaw Regional Medical Center?

CNRC is a 60 bed long term care facility with complete access to the resources of the main hospital.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIETARY AIDE
As a Dietary Aide, you would assist in the preparations of large volumes of food, stock food storage areas, and deliver dishes to residents. According to instructions and orders, you would prepare residents meal portions, and handle the food with care. In order to maintain the general cleanliness of your workspace, you would be expected to clean, wash and sanitize all dishes and equipment.

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Dietary Aide prepares patient trays according to instructions/orders.
2. Dietary Aide will assists in preparation and portioning of meal items according to menu and dietary requirements.
3. Implement proper food handling techniques whether in preparation of food, setting up, or serving trays.
4. Cleans, washes, and sanitizes dishes, flatware, and utensils used to serve patients and others.
5. Assists in maintaining the general cleanliness of the dish-washing area.
6. Cleans work area and equipment as assigned.
7. Stock food storage areas as assigned.
8. Deliver food, nourishment, and supplies to Nursing Units and other areas as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must have High School Diploma or sufficient knowledge and education to perform job functions.
2 .Experience in Dietary Department, large volume food preparation, and service preferred.
3. Dietary Aide must have the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with other staff members, referral sources, residents, their families, and physicians.
4. Must be able to clear a background check.
5. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
Experience in a Dietary department or nursing home is preferred, but not required!
