What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Office Manager position at Choctaw Regional Medical Center?
General Summary: The Business Manager primary purpose is to assist in the day-to -day accounting functions of the facility in accordance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to health care and the hospital operations as may be directed by the revenue cycle team.
Essential Functions:
Ø Assist in maintaining a good public relations program that serves the best interest of the facility and community alike.
Ø Assure that patient information records are appropriately filed.
Ø Assist in reconciling statements as directed.
Ø Must be knowledgeable of laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to hospital and long-term care procedures.
Ø Must be able to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Ø Assist with paperwork.
Ø Assist with daily ending reporting.
Ø Reviewing Medicare and Medicaid eligibility.
Ø Reconciling census.
Ø Review ancillary billing.
Ø Post revenue, making adjustment, balancing cash.
Ø Participating in triple check.
Required Qualifications:
Ø Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.
Ø Associate of Arts (AA) Degree in Business Administration preferred but not necessary.
Ø Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years in an administrative supervisory capacity.
Ø Must have knowledge of insurance procedures, contracts, etc., covering business transactions.
Ø Must have knowledge of office machines and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Ø Sitting for extended periods.
Ø Heavy use of computer keyboard.
Ø Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ø Always maintains patient confidentiality.
Ø Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
Ø Wears appropriate clothing.
Ø Wear name tag always while on duty.
Ø Attend all in-service and/or staff meetings.
