What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Coordinator position at Choctaw Nation?
Job Purpose or Objective(s): Work is focused on assisting and advising associates with benefit enrollment process, eligibility, coverage amounts/options, and claim filing including Retirement benefits and health benefits. You will report to the Benefits Director.
Pay Rate: $28.35 per hour | Full-Time | Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Weekly Earned Wage Access is an option for this position.
Primary Tasks:
1. You will administer multiple insurance programs such as group life, medical, dental, accident and disability insurance, and retirement and supplemental benefits, continuation of coverage and flexible spending accounts in a self-insured and fully-insured environment.
2. Your work is supervised.
3. Assign monthly benefits plan funding, billing, and reconciliation of multiple group insurance plans.
4. Provide first contact to assist employees and covered dependents regarding coverage, claims and related issues.
5. You will resolve issues with insurance carriers, care providers and retirement plan trustee administrator(s).
6. Prepare documents necessary for ensuring compliance with insurance, tax and other regulations and including filing requirements.
7. Maintain accurate records and employee files assuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and confidentiality.
8. Arrange and conduct employee information presentations and plan enrollment.
9. Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in human resources, business, or related field or 2 years related experience.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, and tribal government regulations as they relate to human resources
- Meet all deadlines, and maintain data integrity
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in written correspondence.
- Intermediate ability using Microsoft Word, Excel (can perform complex functions) and HCM systems
- One (1) year of directly related experience in employee benefit plan administration
