What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Specialist Grants Accounting position at Choctaw Nation?
Onsite - Durant, OK | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:30PM
Job Purpose or Objective(s): As an Accounting Specialist, you will perform complex accounting responsibilities for the accounting department. You will report to the Accounting Manager.
Primary Tasks:
- You will perform multiple analytics and review functions to ensure accounting accuracy.
- Help with monthly closing process.
- Record general ledger entries.
- Compile reconciliations.
- You will conduct specialized research projects, reporting, and respond to inquiries.
- Process payables and receivables.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Associates degree in Accounting or Finance or 2 years related experience.
- Apply basic math (arithmetic, ratios, proportions or conversions)
- Use Ten Key (by touch)
- Understanding of accounting principles
- Prior experience using of Microsoft Word and Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
- Two years' directly related experience
