The Banquet Chef is responsible for the preparation, execution, and presentation of food for banquets, events, and large-scale functions. This role assists with food production, kitchen organization, staff coordination, and adherence to food safety and quality standards to ensure successful events and exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Execution
- Responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating menu items for banquets and events
- Help execute large-volume food production while maintaining quality and consistency
- Ensure timely setup and breakdown of banquet food stations
- Assist with special dietary requests and customized menus
Kitchen Operations
- Support daily kitchen operations for banquet functions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, storage, and prep areas
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Responsible for inventory control, receiving, and proper storage of food supplies
Quality & Standards
- Ensure food meets presentation, taste, and portion standards
- Responsible for menu execution according to recipes and specifications
- Uphold company standards for professionalism, hygiene, and teamwork
Qualifications
- Previous culinary or banquet kitchen experience required
- Culinary school training a plus but not required
- Knowledge of large-scale food preparation and banquet service
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
