Job Summary

The Research Resources Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of safety, facilities, and equipment for the Research Institute. Maintains inventory of equipment within the Research Institute, coordinates preventive maintenance of the equipment and works with vendors to obtain quotes and schedule new equipment demos. Provides safety training to new associates as well as preventative drills to protect personnel. The Research Resources Coordinator analyzes and resolves operational problems of moderate scope related to facilities, equipment, and safety. The position will also assist the Research Administration Team with a variety of projects, and/or tasks as necessary.

Pay Range

Minimum $25.46 Midpoint $33.73 Maximum $42.01

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

Required: Minimum two (2) years of experience in a research laboratory/healthcare facility. Valid California’s Driver’s License. Experience working as part of a team and providing excellent customer service.

Preferred: Experience in a patient care setting with working knowledge of medical terminology. Experience with Lawson purchasing, laboratory equipment, safety coordination, temperature monitoring systems (REES).

Education

Required: Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in facilities, emergency management, engineering or another related field.

Training

Required: None required

Preferred: Training in process improvement, building safety/engineering, and facilities controls in a research setting.

Specialized Skills

Required: Understanding of facilities operations, physical plant, safety and security, and fire protection systems. Knowledge of laboratory equipment and its function. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others. Able to read, write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point; operate/troubleshoot basic equipment required for the position. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone. Pay close attention to detail. Organize and prioritize workload. Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing priorities.

Work Environments - Functional Demand

Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
