Job Summary
The EVS Director is responsible for the management and oversight of the Environmental Services (EVS) department. This role will provide leadership and strategic direction to the hospital and enterprise, directs business practices to uphold CHOC mission and values, develops new and emerging solutions for sustained growth and effective day-to-day operations and lead a goal-oriented hospital EVS department to create a team environment that is effective, productive, and rewarding. Together with the team, this position will create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where patients can heal.
Pay Range
Minimum $110,094 Midpoint $145,870 Maximum $181,626
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience
- Required: Minimum five (5) years of environmental services management level experience in healthcare.
- Preferred: Over five (5) years of environmental services management level experience.
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree or four (4) years management related experience accepted in lieu of education.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in healthcare, management, or related field.
- Required: HAZWOPER Training within 90 days of onboarding if not already completed in last 12 months .
- Required: Knowledge and skills in administration and leadership, employee relations, communication, management of fiscal resources, and regulatory in health care industry. Must also have familiarity with CAL-OSHA, The Joint Commission, CMS and other regulatory requirements. Must have computer skills that are efficient in Microsoft office, environmental services software, and basic functions of a computer. Must have knowledge of basic infection prevention mitigation strategies in healthcare.
- Preferred: Bilingual - English/ Spanish.
- Required: None required.
- Preferred: Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP).
