What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer I/II position at Chobani?
The Process Engineer will serve as a technical resource for the processing areas at Chobani’s Idaho production facility. In this role, you’ll support a fast-paced manufacturing environment through cross-functional collaboration. You’ll provide hands-on technical support for daily operations- leading troubleshooting, root cause investigations, KPI creation, heavy data analysis, and proactive process monitoring.
This is a full-time, onsite role at our Twin Falls, Idaho facility. Relocation assistance is available. Please note: this position is not eligible for hybrid or remote work.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise across processing, Design and implement methods to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance yields, quality, and safety.
- Troubleshoot process issues and drive true root cause solutions.
- Lead Management of Change reviews for process modifications.
- Build proactive monitoring systems and anomaly detection in critical process areas.
- Partner with the Quality team on Root Cause Analysis investigations.
- Support R&D with product trials and process changes.
- Maintain technical documentation with the drafting team (layouts, P&IDs, manuals, etc.).
- Develop process scopes of work to define new project ideas and secure funding.
- Contribute to conceptual design and specify process equipment under senior engineer guidance.
- Partner with vendors and contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and effective project outcomes.
- Collaborate with Project Management to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Support capital project transitions to production teams.
- Lead and participate in risk assessments, automation simulations, and FMEAs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering preferred; other engineering disciplines considered.
- 1–7 years of plant manufacturing or capital project experience.
- Background in hygienic process design; dairy strongly preferred, but food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing also considered.
- Experience with cultured dairy products and aseptic processing is a plus.
- Skilled in developing technical documents and reports.
- Proficiency in equipment sizing (pumps, piping, and other processing systems).
- Familiarity with PLCs and logic controls in manufacturing equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Experience with process data trending and analysis (SEEQ preferred).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-paced setting.

Salary : $7,700 - $140,000
