What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, People Project Management position at Chobani?
The Director, People Team Project Management leads the execution of high-priority People Team and enterprise initiatives. This is a builder role for a hands-on project leader who brings structure to ambiguity, creates practical ways of working, and stays close to the work through delivery. The role strengthens how projects are scoped, prioritized, governed, communicated, and delivered, while helping leaders and project owners make clear decisions and manage dependencies, risks, and outcomes.
The primary focus is discrete, time-bound projects with defined scope, milestones, deliverables, and owners. The role may coordinate related work when needed, but it is not designed to own broad, standalone program strategy. Communications and change enablement are integrated into project delivery.
Lead strategic projects
* Lead end-to-end project management for complex, cross-functional People Team and enterprise initiatives, from scoping through stabilization and closeout.
* Translate business priorities into clear project charters, plans, milestones, decision points, dependencies, success measures, and ownership.
* Create momentum, challenge unclear assumptions, remove barriers, and hold partners accountable for timely decisions and delivery.
* Identify risks early, drive practical mitigation, and escalate issues with clear options and recommendations.
* Embed stakeholder engagement, communication, and change considerations into the project plan rather than treating them as separate workstreams.
Build project management practices
* Create a consistent, lightweight project management approach for the People Team, including fit-for-purpose templates, tools, governance, and reporting.
* Establish clear intake and prioritization practices that help leaders focus resources on the highest-value work.
* Coach project owners and team members on project fundamentals, decision clarity, planning, risk management, and execution.
* Build practical learning resources and a community of practice for employees who regularly contribute to project work, even when project management is not their primary role.
* Continuously improve the approach based on team feedback, business needs, and lessons learned.
Create portfolio visibility and alignment
* Maintain a clear view of active People Team projects, priorities, capacity, milestones, interdependencies, risks, and decisions.
* Prepare concise, decision-ready updates for People Team leadership that surface progress, tradeoffs, and areas requiring intervention.
* Coordinate across project owners and functional leaders to reduce duplication, sequence work thoughtfully, and resolve cross-team dependencies.
* Connect project execution to People Team strategy and measurable business outcomes.
Enable clear communications and adoption
* Own the planning and execution of select People Team communication moments, including All Hands and major project updates.
* Partner with Internal Communications and functional leaders on organization-wide messaging tied to People initiatives.
* Turn complex work into clear, audience-specific communication that explains what is changing, why it matters, and what action is needed.
* Support adoption of new processes, tools, and ways of working through practical stakeholder planning, readiness activities, and reinforcement.
* 10 years of progressive experience in project management, business operations, transformation, or People/HR functions within a complex organization.
* Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional projects with senior stakeholders, competing priorities, and meaningful organizational impact.
* A builder mindset and a record of creating or materially improving practical project management systems, governance, tools, and ways of working.
* Ability to move comfortably between strategy and execution, from shaping an approach to managing details and driving follow-through.
* Strong influencing and facilitation skills, with the judgment to challenge constructively, clarify decisions, and create accountability without relying on formal authority.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complexity and prepare concise executive updates.
* Experience integrating stakeholder engagement, communications, and change enablement into project delivery.
* Comfort operating at pace in an evolving environment with incomplete information and shifting priorities.
* PMP or comparable project management certification preferred; experience with modern portfolio and collaboration tools is a plus.
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

The salary range for this full-time position is $140,000.00 - $220,000.00, bonus equity benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
