What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant Part Time position at Chittenango Family Dental?
Our office is looking for a part time Dental Assistant to join our team.
We are a Modern family dental practice looking to add another assistant to work with our NEW part-time Dentist.
Hours would be Wednesday's and Thursday's 8am-5pm. (approximately 16 hours a week)
Looking for someone who wants to join our team long term.
Possible full-time hours may be available at a later time.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties by providing chairside support and handling dental instruments.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary supplies, sterilize equipment, and maintain aseptic technique to uphold infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Manage patient records using Dentrix
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures is preferred
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to safety guidelines for radiation exposure.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and team members.
