Teacher’s Assistant
Job Description
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- High school diploma or its equivalent, or with previous experience in childcare, early childhood or related programs
- Demonstrates interest in professional growth.
Limitations:
- Must be under the supervision of a Head or Assistant Teacher.
- Shall defer all discipline to the Head or Assistant Teacher.
Responsibilities:
- Aid the Head or Assistant Teacher throughout the day in the care, education and safety of the children.
- Work in accordance with the philosophy and programming technique of the center.
- Aid in the care of classroom supplies and general housekeeping duties.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Works as a team player with other staff members to achieve the goals of the center.
- Comply with NYSOCFS Training requirements.
- Able to repeatedly lift 30 pounds or more during the course of a regular work day.
- Perform other duties necessary to meet the Center’s needs.
Pay: $16.50 per hour
