Role Description The Machine Builder/Assembler is a full-time, on-site role located in Somerset, KY. This role is responsible for assembling custom robotic and automation machinery from engineering drawings, including mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical components. Day-to-day tasks include using hand and power tools to build machine frames, install robotics and mechanisms, align and adjust moving parts, and verify proper operation of equipment. The Machine Builder/Assembler collaborates with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot build issues, perform test runs, and finalize machines for delivery to customers. The role also includes maintaining a clean and safe work area, following company quality standards, and documenting work as required.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used for mechanical assembly and fabrication.
- Experience working with machinery and mechanical assembly, including alignment, fitting, and installation of components.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical principles related to industrial automation (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with engineers and technicians.
- Previous experience in machine building, industrial maintenance, or manufacturing assembly is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in industrial technology, mechanics, or a related field is a plus.
- Associates degree in industrial maintenance or eqivalent work experience preferred.
