What are the responsibilities and job description for the AR Specialist position at Chirp?
About Chirp
We’re not here to compete in an existing category — we’re here to create one. Chirp’s vision is to define and own Relief Tech: a new category built on the belief that everyday pain relief should be accessible, effective, and something people actually love. Our mission is simple: bring relief to as many people as possible, by making things people love.
Since 2015, we’ve been building innovative products — like the Chirp Wheel, the Contour, and the Halo — that help people feel better so they can do more. Headquartered in Lehi, Utah, we’re a fast-moving team on the ground floor of something big.
At Chirp, we care deeply about the why behind what we do. We’re building a world of relief — and we have a serious amount of fun and satisfaction doing it. You’ll see firsthand how every department (including yours!) plays a role in that mission.
The Role
As Chirp grows across major retail partners, the money side of those relationships gets more complex — deductions, chargebacks, portal remittances, and short-pays that can quietly add up. We’re looking for an AR Specialist who knows retail receivables inside and out and wants to own them. You’ll keep cash coming in on time, chase down every dollar we’re owed, and give Finance a clean, reliable picture of where we stand. Success in your first year looks like a tighter close, lower DSO, and a deduction process that’s organized, documented, and recovering real money.
What You’ll Do
- Own the full AR cycle — invoicing, cash application, collections, and account reconciliation
- Manage receivables for large retail accounts, including retailer vendor portals and EDI remittances
- Research, validate, and dispute retailer deductions and chargebacks (compliance fines, shortages, promotional and co-op deductions)
- Track and report on aging, DSO, open deductions, and recovery rates
- Apply payments accurately and resolve unapplied cash and short-pays quickly
- Support month-end close with AR reconciliations and accruals
- Partner with Sales, Ops, and Logistics to trace root causes of deductions and help prevent repeats
- Build and document AR processes as we scale — and spot ways to make them faster and cleaner
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 5 years of accounts receivable experience, ideally in CPG or consumer products
- Hands-on experience managing receivables with large retailers
- Strong working knowledge of deduction management and retailer vendor portals
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
- High attention to detail and a habit of following things through to resolution
- Clear, confident communicator with internal teams and retail partners
Bonus Points
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Experience at a high-growth CPG, wellness, or DTC brand
- Familiarity with EDI transactions (810, 812, 820)
- Passion for health, wellness, and helping people feel better
