EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Virtualization experience is preferred.

- Provide project management for system related projects.
- Provide timely, comprehensive project status reports
- Provide support for all law enforcement equipment and systems
- Ensure that projects are completed on time, and meet stated objectives. Coordinate the installation, configuration, implementation, maintenance, and support of all County and City systems including MS Windows Server, Linux Servers, Hyper-V, Office 365, MS SQL databases, Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), Web servers, Email Archiving, data & web servers, Active Directory domain controllers, time systems, public safety systems, financial systems, inventory, Enterprise SAN (storage area network) and others.
- Install, administer and support each server's operating systems, software applications and related devices.
- Manage the installation, configuration, and testing of new releases of Microsoft Windows Server, Internet Information Server (IIS), Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Outlook Web for access and security standards controls.
- Provide technical support, consultation, and recommendations.
- Respond to critical server issues and troubleshoots.
- Coordinate downtime that is acceptable to county and city business schedules giving adequate advance notice.
- Review the various software and hardware logs to determine if systems and databases are operating properly after system or application failures.
- Upgrade and enhance the data infrastructure.
- Utilize virtualization best practice concepts into virtual server environment
- Provide high level design and hands-on delivery expertise using Hyper-V and related technologies, while assisting in all aspects from design inception to delivery for virtualization initiatives.
- Implement security strategies using group policies and best practices
- Coordinate installation and deployment of application software, service packs, and critical updates using enterprise deployment process.
- Provide project management for all server related projects and changes
- Provide timely, comprehensive project status reports
- Ensure that projects are completed on time, and meet stated objective
- Implement data backup and restoration procedures for servers and other systems as needed.
- Ensure all data necessary is backed up and stored off site
- Test data backup procedures
- Archive emails according to retention policy
- Administer databases and end user accounts ensuring appropriate permissions to servers; data, e-mail, remote access, etc. Work with end users in maintaining the security and integrity of information stored within system files.
- Consult with end users regarding software needs and problems. Implements and tests software modifications and applications. Instruct users on modifications and applications.
- Provide technical and analytical assistance to users in the identification and solution of data communications, Servers, and PC problems.
- Implement and administer VoIP phone system into current environment.
- Exercise responsibility for daily Help Desk and Systems support operations as needed.
- Attend training, technical conferences, and seminars; reviews publications to keep current regarding new software, hardware, security products, IT procedures and best practices.
- Provide on-call service for after-hours IT emergencies as part of a rotation.

- Proficiency in implementing and supporting voice, data and video applications both internally and with outside agencies
- Product specific knowledge of and experience with Enterprise SAN, Microsoft windows server operating systems, Office 365 and Microsoft SQL
- Backup hardware, software and emergency procedures and planning
- Experience with documentation standards and best practices
- Proven implementation experience with all high availability features of Hyper-V including Failover Clustering, switch design, advanced performance troubleshooting, command line utilities, working knowledge of the virtual file system (including configuration and management), creating clones, images and templates, resource allocation, and system monitoring.
- Hands on experience with Hyper-V; installation and configuration.
- Solid understanding of Enterprise SAN technology and how Hyper-V is implemented with shared storage strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment to effectively prioritize tasks, identify problems, and propose alternative solutions.
- Workstation security management (virus prevention, desktop management tools, group policy enforcement, etc.)
- Application security (email and other business-related applications) database systems security management (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
- Understanding of IP networking, DNS, DHCP, streaming protocols and monitoring.
- Experience with IIS and web technologies.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills are required, plus a strong attention to detail.
Chippewa County offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes the following:
- Health Insurance - The County's Health Plan's Third Party Administrator (TPA) is AmeriBen. The network is Anthem BluePreferred network including most medical providers in the Chippewa Valley. The plan has a $3,000 - Individual and $6,000 - Family deductible with an HRA funding. There are four (4) Tier options for coverage: Employee only, $30 per month, Employee Child(ren), $124 per month, Employee Spouse, $150 per month, and Family, $212 per month.
- Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) - The County contributes money on the employee's behalf and can be used for qualified Medical, Dental, or Vision expenses. All employees and dependents enrolled on the Health Insurance Plan qualify. A total of $500 per person enrolled on the plan, up to a max of 4 - $2,000 annually.
- Near-Site Clinic - All employees and dependents enrolled on the Health Insurance Plan have access to services at ReforMedicine. Services with ReforMedicine are FREE!
- Musculoskeletal Partner - Physical Therapy - All employees and dependents enrolled on the Health Insurance Plan have access to services at Doctors of Physical Therapy. Services with Doctors of Physical Therapy are FREE!
- Care Navigation - All employees and dependents enrolled on the Health Insurance Plan have the ability to utilize SorlarteHealth - Amplify Network. Amplify is a Tier 1 In-Network practitioners available for Chippewa County members to use. All Amplify providers are independent and are not within a large health system. The use of any Amplify provider will be $0 out-of-pocket expense! No deductible, no co-pay, and no co-insurance!
- Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS - ETF) - Employees (GME) will begin contributing 7.20% (2026) immediately to the state pension program through WRS. The County will match the employee contribution, 7.20% for a total of 14.40%. This percentage may change each year based on state requirements.
WPPA (Protective with Social Security) will begin contributing 7.20% (2026) immediately to the state pension program through WRS. The County will contribute 14.70% for a total of 21.90%. This percentage may change each year based on state requirements. - Additional Insurance Plans Offered: Dental, Vision, Life, Accident, and Critical Illness, Short-Term (GME only) and Long-Term Disability Insurance; Flexible Spending and Dependent Care Accounts.
- PTO - accrual equal to 7.09 hours of PTO per pay period (26 pay periods in a year). An employees total accrued PTO may not exceed four hundred eighty (480) hours. PTO hours roll over year to year.
