Where compassion meets purpose.

Are you passionate about animals, enjoy working with people, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? Chippewa Animal Clinic is looking for a dependable, motivated, and compassionate team member who is eager to learn and grow in the veterinary field.

Veterinary medicine is rewarding, but it also requires teamwork, adaptability, strong communication, and the ability to stay calm when things get busy. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, pays attention to detail, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to help our patients, clients, and team.

Previous veterinary or animal-care experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train the right person with the right attitude and work ethic.

Pay: $15.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Raises: Annual performance-based wage reviews

What You’ll Do

Client & Patient Care

  • Provide friendly, professional, and compassionate service to pet owners
  • Assist clients during routine visits as well as stressful or emotional situations
  • Answer and triage phone calls accurately and appropriately
  • Schedule appointments and surgical procedures
  • Escort clients and patients to exam rooms and help maintain an efficient appointment flow
  • Assist with patient care, including feeding, walking, monitoring, and administering medications as directed

Veterinary Team Support

  • Communicate important information between clients, technicians, and veterinarians
  • Educate clients on general pet care, wellness recommendations, medications, and follow-up instructions
  • Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats for examinations, treatments, and sample collection
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and procedures
  • Recognize when something requires additional attention and communicate concerns appropriately

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Process payments and discharge patients accurately
  • Maintain complete and detailed electronic medical records
  • Handle medical record requests and communication with other veterinary clinics
  • Fill prescriptions accurately and assist with medication-related tasks
  • Follow established clinic protocols and procedures

Clinic Upkeep

  • Clean and disinfect exam rooms, cages, treatment areas, and equipment
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment throughout the clinic
  • Assist with daily cleaning and restocking responsibilities
  • Take initiative when you notice something that needs to be cleaned, stocked, or completed

What We’re Looking For

  • Dependable, punctual, and consistent attendance
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Good critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Compassionate and professional demeanor, even during stressful situations
  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continue developing new skills
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team
  • Initiative — someone who looks for what needs to be done rather than always waiting to be directed
  • Previous veterinary, animal-care, medical, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required
