Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for preparing, verifying, and shipping belting and related products accurately and efficiently. This role supports on-time deliveries, proper documentation, and safe handling of materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and compliance with company and carrier requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare belting orders for shipment, including cutting, measuring, labeling, banding, and packaging materials as required
- Verify order accuracy against shipping documents, work orders, and customer requirements
- Generate and process shipping paperwork (packing slips, bills of lading, shipping labels, certificates, etc.)
- Coordinate shipments with carriers (LTL, UPS/FedEx, freight, international as applicable)
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment
- Ensure proper handling and secure packaging of belting to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate shipping records in ERP/WMS systems
- Communicate shipment status, delays, or discrepancies to internal teams (sales, customer service, production)
- Perform basic inventory transactions and assist with cycle counts as needed
- Maintain levels of shipping supplies and submit re-order requests in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area in compliance with safety policies
- Dispose of dunnage - cut down unusable pallets and breakdown boxes and place in dumpster.
- Follow all quality, safety, and company procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of shipping, warehouse, or manufacturing experience (industrial or belting experience preferred)
- Ability to read work orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation
- Basic computer skills; experience with ERP or shipping systems preferred
- Ability to safely lift up-to 50 lbs and handle large or heavy belting materials
- Forklift experience or willingness to become certified
- Use of power / hand tools to create shipping pallets / crates when necessary
- Experience handling industrial belting, rubber products, or heavy materials
- Knowledge of domestic and/or international shipping procedures
- Familiarity with freight carriers and packaging requirements
- Forklift certification
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good time management and ability to meet shipping deadlines
