One (1) part-time Assistant Greenhouse Worker needed at Chino Valley High School.  This position is a paid student internship for u 10 hours per week. This position does not include benefits.

POSITION SUMMARY:

• This position involves maintaining the CVHS greenhouse and greenhouse yard directly supervised by AgriScience Instructor / Greenhouse Manager. Maximum of 10 hours per week.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure safety procedures are followed and personal protective equipment is utilized
• Maintain active growing environment in both greenhouses
• Learning and operating Environmental Controller Systems
• Water plants as needed
• Fix irrigation lines as needed
• Plant and maintain growth of plant crop
• Calculate and apply Fertilizer
• Organize greenhouse storage facilities
• Maintain area surrounding greenhouses
• Weed eat, mow, weed outside area of greenhouse
• Clip and trellis plants
• Prune plants as needed
• Pick up approved parts and equipment from stores
• Harvest, package and sell produce and plants
• Identify pests/diseases and perform Integrated Pest Management
• Track growth of plants and analyze growth patterns
• Create order lists for materials, plants, seeds, supplies
• Maintain calendar of scheduled growth and application practices
• Maintain greenhouse structure and facilities

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 16 years or older.
• Must be able to obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• OSHA-10 Agriculture
• Continuously follows safety procedures & utilizes personal protective equipment.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills; listening, following directions, and speaking
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. is required.
• Physical capabilities to conduct continuous manual labor.
• Physical capabilities to operate greenhouse machinery and small motor equipment machinery.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Completed or enrolled in 3^rd year of AgriScience program at CVHS
• Knowledge and related experience of horticulture and greenhouse systems desired
• Experience following safety procedures.
