Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and efficient Front Counter Associate to join our team. This role involves assisting customers in person and over the phone, handling cashier duties, preparing and packing food items, and providing light support to the kitchen when needed. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, can multitask in a busy environment, and is comfortable working in a quick service setting. Previous experience in restaurant or takeout environments is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and courteously at the front counter.
- Take phone orders and walk-in orders accurately using the POS system.
- Answer customer questions and provide quick, friendly service.
- Process payments (cash and card), provide correct change, and handle transactions accurately.
- Pack orders neatly and correctly according to restaurant standards.
- Maintain quality, portion control, and speed during busy periods.
- Assist with simple back-of-house tasks related to order preparation when needed.
- Support the kitchen team to keep orders moving smoothly.
- Keep the front counter, packing station, and customer area clean and organized.
- Restock bags, sauces, utensils, napkins, and other supplies throughout the day.
Experience
- Prior experience in food service, fast-food, quick service restaurants, or cafes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar is preferred.
- Experience in cashiering, food packing, phone order handling, or basic food prep is advantageous.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling.
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
