Job Summary:
The Attendance Liaison serves as a vital bridge between students, families, and school
administration to promote consistent student attendance. This role focuses on proactive
communication with parents and guardians, coordination with district attendance clerks, and
implementation of strategies to reduce absenteeism. The ideal candidate is organized,
personable, and committed to fostering strong family-school partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
? Make regular phone calls to parents/guardians regarding student attendance concerns.
? Draft, prepare, and send attendance letters in alignment with district policies.
? Schedule and coordinate parent meetings to discuss attendance challenges and develop
support plans.
? Collaborate closely with district attendance clerks to ensure accurate tracking and
reporting of student attendance.
? Serve as a liaison between families, school staff, and district offices to facilitate
resolution of attendance issues.
? Maintain detailed records of all communications, interventions, and outcomes related to
student attendance.
? Support school initiatives to engage families and promote consistent attendance.
? Provide data and reports on attendance trends to school administration as needed.
Qualifications:
? High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
? Experience in education, social work, or related fields is a plus.
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage families in a
positive and supportive manner.
? Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and database management.
? Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
? Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
