What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Cashier/ Drive Thru Cashier position at CHINA KITCHEN?
Job Summary
Our small chinese restaurant team is seeking an experienced and efficient cashier to join our team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while handling transactions and food efficiently. Working here is very laid-back and casual, as long as all duties are complete.
Duties
- Greet customers and provide assistance and answer questions during menu selections.
- Accurately take customer orders through our POS system.
- Handle cash and credit card payments, ensuring all transactions are processed correctly. Must be able to do basic mathematics when handling change and be able to correctly enter totals into the card machine.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier area and dining space.
- Deliberately stock sauces, utensils, etc.
- Bag and serve take-outs quickly while adhering to food safety standards. Order numbers are called out so being able to speak loudly is beneficial.
- Answer pick-up orders through the business phone and enter them through POS system.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction. Note that our cooks speak Mandarin Chinese so be patient or speak to the manager to change order details.
- Address customer questions and resolve any issues promptly. Communicate with the manager on duty if any changes are made through the POS system.
- Uphold all company policies regarding food safety and hygiene. Wash hands after dealing with anything other than food.
- Quickly service pick-up orders through the drive-thru window.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant settings is a must.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is a plus.
- Be able to adapt or have experience in fast-paced work settings.
- Quick learning skills for remembering dishes and POS system.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, including with the kitchen staff.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
