Learn a Skilled Trade and Build a Career

Looking for a hands-on career where you can learn valuable skills, work outdoors, and advance into a skilled technician position?

We are looking for a dependable, motivated Chimney Technician Apprentice to join our team.

No chimney experience is required. We will train the right person.

You'll work alongside an experienced Lead Technician and receive hands-on training in chimney and fireplace service, repairs, installations, masonry, and home maintenance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands and wants to learn a trade instead of just finding another job.

What You'll Do

As a Chimney Technician Apprentice, you'll assist an experienced technician while learning how to:

  • Inspect chimneys and fireplaces
  • Perform chimney sweeping and cleaning
  • Assist with chimney and fireplace repairs
  • Install chimney caps, chase covers, and related products
  • Perform basic masonry and brick repairs
  • Set up ladders and job sites safely
  • Use hand and power tools
  • Carry and organize tools, equipment, and materials
  • Protect customers' homes and property while working
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site
  • Follow proper safety procedures
  • Provide professional service to homeowners

As your skills and knowledge increase, you'll be given additional responsibilities and the opportunity to advance toward becoming a Chimney Service Technician.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is dependable and shows up on time
  • Has a positive, can-do attitude
  • Enjoy working with their hands
  • Is willing to learn and take direction
  • Works well with others
  • Pays attention to details
  • Takes pride in doing quality work
  • Is comfortable working outdoors
  • Is comfortable with ladders and heights
  • Wants to learn a skilled trade and grow with the company

Construction experience is a plus, but it is not required.

Experience in construction, roofing, masonry, HVAC, landscaping, maintenance, installation, carpentry, warehouse work, or other physically active jobs may transfer well to this position.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to follow instructions from the Lead Technician
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds
  • Ability to safely climb ladders
  • Ability to work on rooftops of various pitches and heights
  • Ability to safely set up and maintain job sites
  • Ability to perform physical work throughout the day
  • Willingness to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
  • Ability to follow company safety procedures

What You Can Expect

This is an active, hands-on position where no two days are exactly the same.

You'll travel to customers' homes, work alongside experienced technicians, use tools, climb ladders, assist with repairs and installations, and learn how chimney and fireplace systems work.

You'll gain real-world experience in chimney service, masonry, construction, repairs, installations, and home maintenance.

The work is physical and requires working outdoors and at heights, but it also gives you the opportunity to learn valuable skills and see what you've accomplished at the end of each day.

From Apprentice to Technician

We aren't looking for someone who wants to remain an apprentice forever.

We're looking for someone who wants to learn the trade, develop their skills, take on more responsibility, and advance into a Chimney Service Technician position.

If you're dependable, hardworking, comfortable with heights, and ready to learn, apply today.
