QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Possess a valid New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) Teaching License appropriate for the grade levels and subject areas assigned.
  2. Hold a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree or higher preferred.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of effective instructional practices for elementary and multi-grade/combination classroom settings.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to differentiate instruction and manage multiple grade-level curricula simultaneously.
  5. Demonstrate cooperativeness, flexibility, professionalism, and willingness to carry out assigned tasks and performance responsibilities.
  6. Bilingual endorsement preferred or required based on assignment and district needs.
  7. Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
  8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL:

To provide a positive, engaging, and effective learning environment for students in a combination-grade elementary classroom. The Elementary Combination Class Teacher will plan and deliver standards-based instruction across multiple grade levels, foster academic growth and social-emotional development, establish positive relationships with students and families, and ensure that all students receive equitable access to high-quality educational opportunities aligned with district and state standards.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Plan, organize, and deliver instruction in reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, health, physical education, art, music, and other assigned content areas utilizing New Mexico State Standards, district curriculum, bilingual curriculum, and other approved instructional resources.
  2. Develop and implement lesson plans that address the academic needs of students across multiple grade levels within a combination classroom setting.
  3. Differentiate instruction through whole-group, small-group, and individualized learning experiences to meet the diverse needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles of students.
  4. Utilize effective classroom management strategies to establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
  5. Instruct students in citizenship, character development, responsible decision-making, and expected student behaviors in accordance with district policies and procedures.
  6. Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative measures and use assessment data to guide instruction and improve student achievement.
  7. Maintain accurate and complete records of student attendance, grades, assessments, and progress as required by district, state, and federal regulations.
  8. Complete report cards, progress reports, cumulative records, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  9. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student academic progress, attendance, behavior, and classroom activities through conferences, phone calls, written correspondence, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.
  10. Collaborate with colleagues, interventionists, special education staff, bilingual staff, counselors, and administrators to support student success.
  11. Identify student needs and participate in the referral process for academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and health-related concerns when appropriate.
  12. Create and maintain an attractive, organized, and engaging classroom environment that supports learning and reflects student work.
  13. Participate in curriculum alignment, instructional planning, benchmark development, assessment implementation, and continuous school improvement initiatives, including implementation of the Educational Plan for Student Success (EPSS).
  14. Administer district and state assessments, including bilingual assessments and language proficiency assessments, in accordance with established procedures.
  15. Analyze student performance data and develop intervention strategies to improve student achievement and close learning gaps.
  16. Maintain professional competence through district-sponsored professional development, professional learning communities, workshops, conferences, and self-directed learning opportunities.
  17. Participate in faculty meetings, committee assignments, school functions, parent engagement activities, and other district-sponsored events.
  18. Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional activities, including recess, lunch, field trips, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned duties.
  19. Select, requisition, and maintain instructional materials, classroom supplies, and inventory records as required.
  20. Implement the New Mexico Educator Competencies and Indicators and all policies adopted by the Board of Education.
  21. Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.
  22. Support and promote culturally and linguistically responsive instructional practices that honor the diverse backgrounds of students and families.
  23. Attend and participate in staff meetings, site-based leadership meetings, parent-teacher organization meetings, and other meetings as assigned.
  24. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent, or designee.

 

EVALUATION:

Performance shall be evaluated in accordance with Board policy, district procedures, and New Mexico Public Education Department requirements governing the evaluation of licensed instructional personnel.

Salary : $55,200 - $87,773
