About The Role: Chillhouse is looking for a Director of Growth & Retention to own performance marketing and lifecycle strategy across our ecommerce and retail business. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll set the paid social strategy across Instagram and TikTok, own our retention roadmap end to end, and direct a small internal team plus a bench of external agency partners. You'll be one of three marketing directors reporting into our founders, working closely with peers leading Influencer & Creator Partnerships and Marketing & Partnerships.
What You'll Own:
- Paid social strategy — set ad briefs, creative direction, targeting, and budget allocation across Meta (Instagram) and TikTok, owning CAC and ROAS targets
- Retention roadmap — build and run our email/SMS lifecycle program, segmentation strategy, and loyalty initiatives to grow repeat purchase rate and LTV
- Team leadership — manage and develop our Ecommerce & CRO Manager
- Agency management — direct our media buying agency, Amazon PPC partner, and email/CRM design agency to hit performance goals
- Reporting — own the monthly performance narrative (CAC, ROAS, LTV, retention) for leadership
- Cross-functional partnership — coordinate with the Art Director, Influencer & Creator Partnerships and Marketing & Partnerships directors on integrated campaigns and launches
What We're Looking For:
- 6–8 years in performance marketing at a DTC ecommerce brand, with direct ownership of paid social budgets (not just execution)
- Proven ownership of retention/CRM — you can point to specific programs you built and the LTV or repeat-purchase impact
- Experience directing external agencies, not just working alongside them
- Strong with numbers — comfortable owning a budget in the high six to seven figures and defending performance to leadership
- Bonus: CRO experience, background in beauty, wellness, or retail DTC
