In this role, you will provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to patients, develop nutrition-related care plans, and provide nutrition education to staff, children, and families.

What You'll Do
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)
- Perform comprehensive, individualized nutrition assessments using the Nutrition Care Process, according to the Standards of Practice in Nutrition Care for RDN’s.
- Implement the Nutrition Care Process to ensure individual health/nutritional goals are established, monitored and achieved.
- Recommend/prescribe nutrition-related diets, diet modifications, nutrition support regimens for clients as directed within the organizational/state regulations.
- Provide developmentally appropriate nutrition counseling and education to clients and their families.
- Instruct children/clients and their families, physician and/or healthcare personnel in principles of nutrition and recommended modifications.
- Counsel children/clients and their families on making recommended changes to improve their quality of life.
- Advise children and their families on nutrition principles, dietary plans and modifications, and food selection and preparation.
- Formulate individualized menus for therapeutic diets as indicated.
- Coordinate with Dietary Department to ensure adequate staff training and implementation of safe and accurate meals.

- Required: Related bachelor's program. Master's program preferred.
- Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Academy for Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Three years of full-time work as a Registered Dietitian in a healthcare setting required. Pediatric experience required.
- Must be a Licensed Dietitian with the State of Iowa. Board certification as a specialist in pediatric nutrition (CSP) preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
