School Bus Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a School Bus Driver at the CISD Transportation Department. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school and related activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to student safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to maintain a positive and friendly environment for students.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus to transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and special events.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe working condition.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
• Maintain a clean and organized bus interior.
• Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Transportation Department.
• Manage student behavior on the bus and enforce safety rules.
• Attend required training sessions and meetings as scheduled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas commercial driver's license (CDL) with a school bus and passenger endorsement.
• Clean driving record and a minimum of five years of driving experience.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and the ability to work well with children.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to school transportation.
