Description
The Rhode Island State Pre-K Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate early childhood program aligned with the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS) and RIDE State Pre-K requirements. The teacher creates a safe, inclusive, nurturing classroom environment that supports each child’s growth across all developmental domains, promotes family engagement, and ensures compliance with regulations and quality standards.
Requirements
Required by RIDE for State Pre-K Lead Teachers
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with a minimum of 24 ECE credits.
- Rhode Island PK–2 Teaching Certification or eligibility to obtain it, OR RIDE-approved Early Childhood Certification.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a high-quality early childhood program.
Preferred
- Experience with RIELDS, TSG, ECERS, or similar ECE assessment tools.
- Strong understanding of play-based learning and child development.
- Experience collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to reflective practice and continuous improvement.
