About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our pediatric team at Children's Specialized Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading by example, and contributing to the growth and development of our nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care and/or education to patients and families when indicated
- Participate in the orientation, development, and supervision of personnel assigned to the unit
- Motivate staff to improve their performance to improve unit and patient care outcomes
- Display competence in the performance of unit-specific skills to be a resource and mentor for team members
- Demonstrate an understanding of regulatory requirements and professional practice guidelines
- Function in the role of relief supervisor in the absence of the Supervisor, assuming responsibility for assigned shift as applicable
- Fulfill on-call responsibilities when assigned
- Ensure availability of appropriate use of equipment and supplies
Requirements
- Graduate of a National League of Nursing-accredited School of Nursing
- NJ RN license
- AHA BLS Provider
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support PALS certification or eligible, with an expectation to receive certification within one year of hire
- Evidence of leadership ability
- Evidence of interpersonal skill and ability to collaborate with others
- Physical stamina and ability to safely lift and move objects and people in pediatric inpatient care areas
