What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Interventionist 5D position at Childrens of Alabama?
- Job Summary
- Care for patients who have mental illness, emotional conditions and/or developmental disabilities. Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of the patient's care as outlined in the treatment plan. Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff. Possess communication skills and the aptitude to work with patients with behavioral problems or mental illness.
- Education
- Bachelor degree in related field (i.e. psychology, sociology, etc)
- Experience
- The Behavioral Interventionist must have a minimum of one year experience in a health care setting working with children and adolescents with emotional disturbances and their families; effectively work with patients and caregivers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- CPI certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment (can be obtained at COA).
