Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
• Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment conducive to active learning and exploration.
• Use child development principles to tailor instruction that meets the diverse needs of young children, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress, address concerns, and foster strong home-school connections.
• Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor developmental milestones and learning outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents.

Skills

• Extensive experience working with children in preschool or early childhood education settings.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management strategies.
• Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and childhood development instruction.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with parents, colleagues, and support staff effectively.
• Ability to implement classroom activities that promote physical activity, literacy education, math skills, and social-emotional learning.
• Knowledge of child welfare policies, first aid, CPR certification, and mandated reporting laws.
• Experience in working with toddlers or in childcare environments is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to manage behavior constructively while fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
