About Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA): Founded in 1970, Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA) is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger and providing nutrition education, which partners with organizations throughout Ohio to provide nutritious meals to children. CHA partners with in-home childcare providers, childcare centers, afterschool, and summer programs to provide balanced, nutritious meals to children in their care. Additionally, they work with schools to increase breakfast participation and provide weekend meals to students. CHA also has ambitious plans to increase age-appropriate nutrition education across the state.
Job Purpose:
Provide executive-level management and support to the President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With appropriate direction, partner with the CEO to ensure the successful implementation of the strategic plan, organizational goals, and ensure a strong workplace culture.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administrative leadership to the President/CEO
- Maintain CEO’s calendar using judgment and discretion in coordinating external and internal activities and commitments.
- Prepare meeting agendas, and correspondence, and handle meeting logistics using keen judgment and prioritization skills.
- Review and route incoming documents and reports, establish priorities, and gather pertinent background information to facilitate appropriate action.
- Screen public requests and situations not requiring the personal attention of the President/CEO and refer to appropriate staff.
- Manage special projects, largely programmatic, which can include emergency or unique food support needs, as directed by CEO
- Organize staff retreats in collaboration with the office manager and others
- Provide event support as directed by CEO
Board Operations
- Draft agendas in collaboration with CEO
- Organize board events such as in-person board meetings
- Support the board with administrative tasks including collecting and documenting annual paperwork, annual giving and attendance, and other annual tasks.
- Attend Governing Board and committee meetings and take minutes of the meetings. Prepare minutes of Board and Committee meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.

Background Preferences:
- Proven experience supporting senior management or executives.
- Relevant work or education experience demonstrating an interest in child food security, nutrition programs, and/or rural development
- Prior experience working with children or families through summer camps, after-school programs, or USDA programs
- Understanding of government processes, including the state budget and advocacy activities
- High level of proficiency and accuracy with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to coordinate moving parts smoothly.
- Proactive, positive, resilient, self-starter, high degree of initiative.
- Proven ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and positions (staff, board members, partners, donors, elected officials, vendors).
- Organization, prioritization, and time management skills
- Ability to anticipate and support others’ needs.
- Bachelor’s degree
Salary : $52,000 - $57,000
