Position Overview
Country Meadows Montessori School is seeking a dedicated and credentialed Upper Elementary Montessori Guide to lead a well-established 9–12 classroom for the 2026–27 academic year.
This role offers the opportunity to join a stable, long-standing Montessori community where students progress through the full developmental cycle from Toddler through Elementary, and where faculty are committed to maintaining authentic Montessori practice.
About the Classroom
The Upper Elementary environment serves a multi-age group of approximately 18 students (grades 4–6) in a structured and normalized setting.
Students are engaged, independent learners, many of whom have progressed through earlier levels within the school. This continuity supports strong classroom culture and sustained academic development.
The program is complemented by specialist instruction in:
- Music
- Physical Education
- Spanish
This allows the Guide to focus on core Montessori curriculum and classroom leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain a prepared Montessori environment for students aged 9–12
- Deliver the Montessori Elementary curriculum in alignment with authentic Montessori principles
- Support the academic, social, and emotional development of students
- Establish clear classroom expectations and guide student independence and responsibility
- Build strong, professional relationships with parents and caregivers
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support the broader school community
- Participate in ongoing observation, assessment, and planning
Candidate Requirements
- Montessori Elementary credential (AMI, AMS, or MACTE-accredited) for ages 6–12
- Previous experience in an Upper Elementary classroom preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead a classroom environment with confidence and consistency
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to authentic Montessori philosophy and practice
Candidates currently completing 9–12 Montessori training may be considered if they have relevant classroom experience and are prepared to assume a lead role with mentorship support.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary is competitive and based on Montessori training and experience
- 21-payroll cycle during the academic year
