JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Comply with all Agency and Program policies, procedures and protocols in a professional and ethical manner.

3. Actively participate in the maintenance of a therapeutic environment and implement appropriate clinical interventions with clients as needed.
o Encourages health and wellness among the residents
o Provides group knowledge of good health and nutrition through educational materials and training of staff
4. Take orders for physical interventions when necessary and perform assessment during and following physical intervention.
o Follows procedure for assessment post physical intervention
5. Provides clinical nursing support and guidance.
o Provides training in various medically-related issues from a psychiatric nursing perspective at all programs.
o As a part of Multi-disciplinary team, provide clinical input from a psychiatric nursing perspective to the development of treatment.
6. Prepare and complete required reports and documentation as well as perform other required administrative tasks assigned.
o MARS
o Transcribing of Doctor Orders/medical orders
o Scheduling of medical appointments
o Assessing residents for medical/health concerns
o Medical updates prepared for psychiatrist
o Obtaining psychotropic medications consents from parents, guardians, and caseworkers.
7. Prepares and manages staff work schedules.
o Ensures that adequate staffing is planned
o Modifies schedule as per program needs
8. Participates in weekly program treatment team meetings and scheduled staff meetings.
9. Participate in RN On call rotation.
10. Share in providing nursing coverage when nurses are off for vacation and during holidays.
11. Assist the Mental Health Workers on the floor with clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
1. Physical ability to perform all aspects of safe crisis management, including physical interventions.
2. Ability to intermittently stand and sit.
3. Pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying as required.
4. Must be able to describe and articulate events in both written and spoken English.
5. Must be able to read and comprehend reports written in English.
6. Ability to provide awake supervision of clients at all times.
7. Ability to provide vehicular transportation of clients.
8. Has the mental and emotional capacity to work in a highly stressful environment.
9. Maintains a flexible schedule for appointments and on-call duties.
10. Maintains licensure in the state of Pennsylvania
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Registered Nurse certification required.
2. One year experience working with children/youth in a residential treatment setting or other relevant experience preferred.
3. Good written and verbal communication skills.
4. 21 years of age or older
5. All required clearances
6. Be sensitive to and comfortable with working in an agency that provides psychiatric residential treatment services to a culturally diverse population.
