We are looking for a passionate, driven Treatment Foster Care Graduate Intern to join our Baltimore team and gain hands-on field placement experience supporting children in foster care and the families who care for them.

The Children's Guild is a nonprofit organization and affiliate of TranZed Alliance — one of the most experienced child-serving organizations in the Greater Baltimore/Washington region. Our Treatment Foster Care program provides therapeutic, community-based foster care services to children and youth with complex emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs — partnering with dedicated foster families to create safe, nurturing, and healing environments.

We are proud to partner with graduate programs in Social Work, Counseling, and Psychology to provide exceptional field placement experiences that prepare students for licensure and a career in child welfare.

The Opportunity

This field placement is designed for graduate students completing their practicum or field placement requirement. As a Treatment Foster Care Graduate Intern, you will gain direct, supervised experience in one of the most meaningful areas of child welfare practice. You will:

• Provide individual and family therapy to children and youth in foster care placements under direct clinical supervision
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and contribute to individualized treatment planning
• Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions (e.g., TF-CBT, CBT, attachment-based approaches) under supervisor guidance
• Support foster families through training, coaching, and ongoing therapeutic consultation
• Assist with crisis intervention and safety planning under supervisor direction
• Collaborate with foster families, caseworkers, school staff, courts, and community providers to coordinate wraparound care
• Participate in placement stability planning and permanency goal-setting
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with COMAR, HIPAA, and agency standards
• Participate in weekly individual and group supervision sessions and team meetings

What We're Looking For

✔ Current enrollment in an accredited Master's program in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (required)

✔ Completion of foundational graduate coursework prior to placement

✔ Genuine passion for working with children and youth in foster care and their families

✔ Basic knowledge of trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and child welfare practice \

✔ Strong written and verbal communication skills

✔ Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

✔ Flexibility to work some evening hours to accommodate foster family schedules

✔ Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home and community visits

✔ Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply
