The Children’s Guild is seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join the Recruiting team. The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of schools and educational facilities and the ability to play an integral part in grassroots recruiting. High energy and an eye for productivity are important, as is the ability to work with department leaders in the recruitment, screening, and onboarding process. Summary
The Children's Guild is a nonprofit organization serving children, families, and child-serving organizations. We provide individualized transformational experiences to ensure children, families, and communities thrive, through education, behavioral health, management, and consulting services. The Children's Guild operates the Monarch Academy public charter and contract schools, Monarch Preschool College Park, The Children's Guild DC Public Charter School, The Children’s Guild Transformation Academy, the TranZed Academy for Working Students, TranZed Apprenticeships, treatment foster care, and outpatient mental health clinics. We are among the most experienced child-serving organizations in the Greater Baltimore/Washington region and are currently expanding in regional and national programs.

 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Full life cycle recruiting for a multi-site organization from requisition to 1st day of hire.

  • Develop a pipeline of candidates through research, sourcing, cold calling, building rapport with industry professionals, networking, and online job posting.

  • Build a strong pipeline of qualified passive candidates to quickly place when positions open.

  • Partner, educate, and consult with hiring managers on the recruitment process, strategy, and expectations.

  • Track, maintain, and report on the progress of all open positions.

  • Draft offer letters onboarding documents,

  • Attend job fairs at colleges, universities, and alumni groups, and other organizations to identify potential applicants.

  • Manage advertising in various medians (digital, networking, employee referrals, college and University resume databases)

  • Utilize proactive, creative, cost-effective recruitment methods to attract and source candidates.

  • Aid in public relations in establishing a recognizable "employer of choice" reputation for the company, both internally and externally.

  • Support the branding process and promote TCG principles in recruiting packages, exhibits, & onboarding materials

  • Stay informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques to attract and compete in education, managerial, and professional markets.

  • Strong knowledge of HRIS/ATS platforms. Experience in Paycom preferred.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Key Result Area #1: Full-Cycle Recruiting

  1. Engage in active candidate sourcing, including in-person recruiting, hiring events, and online searching.

  2. Collaborate with hiring managers, accounting, & HR Compliance on seat creation with the approved job description.

  3. Aide program leaders in submitting and approving job requisitions.

  4. Post jobs in Paycom and all assigned job boards in a timely manner.

  5. Ability to review and screen applicants for open positions in a timely manner.

  6. Collaborate with program leaders on hiring manager review & interview process.

  7. Conduct verbal and written offers in a timely manner.

  8. Assist with components of the onboarding process.

Key Result Area #2: Effective Communication

  1. Ensure communication with the HR Team and program leadership on recruiting matters.

  2. Weekly communication with the program and executive leadership on current positions/applications and pending requisitions.

  3. Inform HR Leadership and program leaders on upcoming hiring events and which positions will be promoted.

Key Result Area #3: Reporting

  1. Send weekly/monthly reports to program and executive leaders with details on open positions/ applications and pending requisitions.

  2. Update monthly HR report on recruiting efforts with completed hiring events, positions/status, applications, and pending requisitions organized by program.

Key Result Area #4: Collaboration

  1. Ability to work with HR Team, program leaders, and external/internal stakeholders to achieve departmental and program goals and objectives.

Key Result Area #5: Customer Service: Timely, Collaborative, Completion

  1. Assist program leaders in HR-related inquiries in terms of compliance and HRIS administration.

  2. Assist program leaders in HR-related inquiries by collaborating with the HR team as needed.

  3. Ensure all inquiries are followed up on and completed in a timely manner.

Key Result Area #6: Project Management: Timely Delivery of HR Projects

  1. Manage and aid in HR projects as assigned by HR leadership.

  2. All assigned HR projects are completed in detail and on time.

  3. Ensure all internal/external parties (HR Leadership/HR Team, Program Leaders, etc.) are updated on the status/completion of the project.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, psychology, or a related field.

  • At least 5-7 years of recruiting experience or equivalent combination.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

A SHRM/HRCI Human Resources/Talent Management Certification is preferred.

 

 

Work Location and Travel Requirements

This position’s reporting home base is The Children’s Guild HQ, located at 6802 McClean Blvd. Baltimore, MD. 21234.

This position will report in office 3-4 days per week upon supervisor's discretion.  

This position will require travel in supporting programs in Washington DC, PG County & Baltimore City Md.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. on their own. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus. Additional Qualifications

The Talent Acquisition Specialist must have a valid Driver's License, and access to a car is required.

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
