At Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC), our staff is dedicated to addressing the impact of childhood traumatic events and other challenges.  The Clinician will ensure the overall clinical and operational integrity of their assigned program rooms and team.  The Clinician’s primary responsibilities are to lead their respective team, maintain a healthy and proactive relationship with children, families and all stakeholders (i.e., schools, other service providers, etc.) involved in child and families well-being, complete intake assessments and provide individual and family psychotherapy to children ages 5-13 presenting with crisis and behavioral health issues in a trauma-informed manner. 

Summary of Essential Functions:

  • Supervise staff (BHW) in both individual and group format.
    • Keep track of supervision through the use of approved agency supervisory notes and maintained in a supervisory log book
  • Oversee the quality of BHW overall job performance, ensure timely completion of and quality control of the documentation of work with children assigned
  • Ensure that staff follow Children Crisis Treatment Center’s policies and procedures
  • Evaluate staff (BHW’s) per Children’s Crisis Treatment Center’s performance appraisal procedures
  • Work with the clinical team to formulate strong case conceptualizations
  • Engage children and families positively, and professionally in therapeutic process by providing 2 individual, 1 family/collateral therapy session, and 1 group therapy session(s) per week for each child assigned to caseload
  • Complete 100% of the Children and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS), pre & post treatment, for each child assigned at and demonstrate at least a 30% improvement in at least 1 of the needs that were pinpointed at the pre CANS
  • Create and complete S.M.A.R.T treatment plan to meet the therapeutic needs for each child assigned in collaboration with the treatment team (psychiatrist, parent/caregiver, child, BHW) by Day 5 of start of services
  • Complete treatment plan progress reports every 7-days with appropriate signatures including legal guardian, clinician, and psychiatrist.  It is expected that for a child completing 20 days of authorized service within the partial program that there will be at least two (2) treatment plan updates during that service period and may be more if child is authorized for an extension of care within the acute partial program
  • Write and complete 100% progress notes for sessions held with children and families by the end of the 5th day of service for each activity held.
  • Communicate, in written form, the therapy progress, clinical impressions, and recommendations for aftercare services to treatment team (Program Director, Psychiatrist, and Clinical Care Coordinators) twice a week in the prescribed DAP (Data, Assessment, Plan) format
  • Meet once a week with the Acute Partial team (BHW’s and Clinical Care Coordinators) to review treatment of children reviewing treatments that are working compared with those that are not. Actively participates in the treatment planning meetings reviewing treatment strategies, discharge planning for clients, and other interagency meetings as needed
  • Meet 3 times per week with the BHW’s on their team to process, plan, and prepare for the daily activities within the program room.  These meetings should occur from 8:15am-8:45am
  • Completes 100% of the required reauthorization calls with CBH, in the prescribed format (see attached), for each child assigned.  This is to be completed every 5 Days from start of service for each child and the clinician will have 100% reauthorizations for each child to continue within our care for the maximum allowable days as clinically appropriate
  • Completes detailed Discharge summaries for all children within the program assuring that 100% of the aftercare needs and supports are met immediately upon child’s completion of the program
  • Is an active participant in all ISPT meetings for assigned children
  • Ensures that self or staff file incident reports and brings such reports to the attention of the Clinical Supervisor/Program Director within 24 hours of occurrence
  • Provide emergency clinical service and support as needed
  • Attend weekly individual supervision with Clinical Supervisor
  • Attend weekly clinical treatment team (Clinical Supervisors, Clinicians, Psychiatrist, Nurse) meetings
  • Attend weekly all staff team meetings
  • Support the maintenance of the group room and other play areas to provide an ordered, safe, clean and therapeutic environment at all times
  • Attends in-service and training meetings as assigned and in accordance with state and CBH regulations. When applicable, reports back information from trainings in weekly meetings in order to educate other Acute Partial staff
  • Immediately employs Sanctuary Model with clients, families and staff and monitors its use in the Acute Partial Program in order to effectively maintain the Sanctuary Model for all
Qualifications:

Masters of Psychology or related field with minimum of one-year experience providing psychotherapy to children and their families.  The ability to work effectively with diverse cultures including those CCTC serves, staff, other provider agencies, payers and regulatory agencies. This individual will have strong organizational and leadership skills that serve to support CCTC’s mission and vision.

Technical/Computer Skills:                          

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Proficient in handling office equipment (faxes, copiers, scanners)
  • Working knowledge of EMR systems
