What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supported Employment/Educational Specialist position at Children Service Center?
Purpose of this position: HOPE (Helping Overcome Psychosis Early) Program
Children’s Service Center is currently looking for an energetic and dependable person who works well collectively as a treatment team member. If you are ambitious and confident in your ability to learn, the Supported Employment/Educational Specialist (SEES) position is right for you. You will work with clients who are between the ages of 15 and 25 to develop strategies needed to enhance Independent Living Competencies such as Social Skills, Personal Adjustment, Vocational Skills and Educational Skills. You will be provided with a flexible schedule that depends on the need of the client. Join our team of employees to experience the positive impact you can have while helping young adults and adolescents live healthy independent lives. This team member will be fully trained in daily activities and the use of community resources. This position will report to HOPE program director or designee.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate services with Mental Health Practitioner
- Explore clients desired employment and/or educational goals
- Help individuals to develop necessary support systems to maintain their own goals
- Collaborate with community resources such as employers, schools, etc., to support achievement of clients goals
- Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Support individuals to achieve academic and vocational achievement

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in the Mental Health field or related
Three years work experience in Mental Health Services, Vocational field, or Educational Support preferred, but not required
Experience working with adolescents/adults, and knowledge of Psychosis preferred, but not required
Must pass Safe Crisis Management Training (physical and theory), upon hire and then annually as a condition of employment. Other requirements include:
- Driver’s License
- FBI Act 73
- Criminal history
- Act 33 clearances
Salary : $50 - $100
