As a PACU Nurse, you will play a vital role in helping our young patients wake up gently, safely and with comfort after surgery - while reassuring families that they're in the very best hands. Additional responsibilities include being a partner in the care management team, providing coordination and management of patient care to pediatric patients and families within a continuum of care and delegating patient activities as appropriate within a care management assignment. This position requires:
- Two years or more of prior nursing experience.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or a BSN in order to meet the recommended entry level for a professional nurse (or equivalent academic and/or professional experience). A BSN is preferred.
- A current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin.
- Knowledge of the principles of neonatal, pediatric and adolescent growth and development and child/family responses to fear, illness, injury and hospitalization.
- Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
- PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- 10-hour shifts
- Must be flexible with start times varying between 7:30am-9:30am.
- Weekend call expectations would be roughly every 5th weekend and 3 overnight weekday call shifts between 8:30pm-7:30am, in a 6 week period.
