Job Summary Performs daily cleaning and sanitation of patient rooms, office spaces, clinical spaces, and public areas. Performs in-patient room discharge cleaning to ensure a clean and aseptic environment as needed. Collaborates and builds relationships with coworkers, leaders, and staff throughout the hospital. Plans out day with supplies, manages time, prioritizes high need tasks, adjusting and adapting based on the needs of the department and hospital. Essential Functions - Performs cleaning of in-patient and out-patient rooms, office areas, public spaces and in-patient room discharges in accordance with departmental cleaning standards, ensuring a sanitary environment. - Maintains Environmental Services equipment, supplies, carts, and closets ensuring they are kept clean and in a safe working order. - Identifies and segregates regulated waste and recyclables from regular waste. - Reports any maintenance concerns or problems that are observed (i.e. burned-out lights, wall damage, leaking faucets) directly to Facilities or to their immediate supervisor. - Collaborates with coworkers and leaders on a regular basis in a professional and respectful manner. - Exhibits professionalism and respectful behavior when interacting with patients, families, and visitors. - Observes safety and security policies as outlined in the Department Safety Manual. - Responsible for understanding and adhering to the Children’s Organizational Code of Ethics and for ensuring that personal actions, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to Children's business. Education: - High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Ability to understand written and/or verbal instructions. - Ability to complete assigned work under minimal supervision - Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff while performing housekeeping duties. - Ability to work around patients, visitors and medical staff while completing work assignments.
