What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time or Full-Time Assistant Teacher Position position at Children's Village Preschool of Orange?
Requirements: demonstrates exemplary skills and knowledge in preschool education, working knowledge of Title 22, able to successfully manage a classroom for young children, good oral communication skills, able to assist in planning and implementing daily curriculum following center philosophy, able to work under the supervision of the administrative staff and direct supervision of teachers, able to work as a team member with all staff members, able to establish a positive rapport with children and parents and assist in making adequate decisions regarding children’s safety and well-being in the absence of the teacher (whenever applicable). Must be sensitive to the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of the children. Must enjoy the outdoors, be able to work in an outside environment, enjoy working with animals, be able to work in loud areas, be able to lift 50 lbs., twist, turn, stoop, reach, push, and bend demonstrating full range of motions. Must be flexible and able to work and solve problems effectively with parents and staff.
Applicant MUST_ have minimum of 12 units in ECE completed. Copy of transcripts required (need not be official)._
Upon acceptance of employment, the applicant must pass the Department of Social Service Live Scan fingerprinting background check, complete a health screening and TB skin test by a medical professional, show proof of immunization to Pertussis and Measles, obtain yearly Influenza vaccine (waiver available), hold and maintain valid CPR and First Aid certification, complete free yearly Healthy Schools Act one-hour training, free bi-annual Mandated Reporter Training and free bi-annual harassment training certificates. Applicants are responsible for all fees and time involved in acquiring certifications and immunizations prior to employment.
Hourly Salary Starting:
$18.30-$18.60 with 12-18 CD/ECE Units
$19.30-$19.60 with AA Degree in CD/ECE
$20.30-$20.60 with BA Degree in CD/ECE
Benefits for Part-Time: (Between 27.5 to 31 hours per week) Holiday pay and optional dental insurance (must work above 30 hours per week to quality for dental) once the applicant has passed his/her probation period. Sick time available after 90 working days of employment. Employees can also contribute to a 401K plan after one year of employment.
Benefits for Full-Time: (32 to 40 hours per week) All of the benefits above plus vacation pay once the applicant has passed his/her probation period. After completion of three years of employment = $150 towards employees’ medical insurance (offered by the company). After completion of 6 years of employment insurance (offered by the company) will be paid in full by the school.
Hours: Current approximate hours for part-time schedules are Monday through Friday 9am to 3pm. Full-time schedules are assigned within our operating hours and may vary to meet the needs of the program. The center is open from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. (We understand that some applicants are also pursuing their education, and scheduling accommodations may be possible to support school commitments).

Additional Pay Increases May Include:
· Probation Increase – after successfully passing 90 working day probation
· Years of Service Increase after three years of employment and each year after
· Yearly merit evaluation increases and bonus if applicable, depending on the financial health of the school.
