About the Position
Join our passionate therapy team and make a difference in the lives of children and families in the San Luis Valley! We are seeking a dedicated COTA to provide high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services under the supervision of our Occupational Therapist (OT).
What You’ll DO
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to children under the supervision of an OT, addressing motor, sensory, cognitive, and functional goals.
- Implement individualized treatment plans and adapt activities to meet each child’s unique needs.Monitor progress, document session notes, and communicate updates to the supervising OT.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members to support goal achievement and carryover of therapy strategies.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and treatment planning discussions.Maintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with state, federal, and ethical standards.Support a positive, organized, family-centered therapy environment.
- Pursue continuing education to maintain licensure and stay current with best practices.
What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Active COTA license in the relevant state.
- Knowledge of pediatric development, sensory processing, and evidence-based interventions.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.Ability to implement treatment plans and interventions under OT supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with pediatric populations.Experience supporting children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, or sensory processing challenges.
- Training or certification in specialized pediatric approaches (e.g., sensory integration, feeding therapy, handwriting intervention, DIR/Floortime).Experience providing therapy in school, clinic, or home-based settings.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills.
