The Senior Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations and strategic initiatives across multiple states. This position serves as a trusted HR professional to management and employees on HR policies, compliance, and best practices while driving initiatives that align with the company’s growth and mission.
What You'll Do
This is a full-time position in a hybrid work setting, working one day per week in any of our NJ EI Centers (Jackson, Voorhees, Newark). The core hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Here’s What You Can Expect
A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and experience equity.

The Senior Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations and strategic initiatives across multiple states. This position serves as a trusted HR professional to management and employees on HR policies, compliance, and best practices while driving initiatives that align with the company’s growth and mission.
What You'll Do
- Provide day-to-day support to employees on HR-related inquiries and concerns.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring to complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Serve as the primary HR contact and support managers for any employee relations, coaching managers on performance management, corrective action, journaling, documentation, PIPs, conflict resolution, and engagement strategies. Escalate when appropriate and/or as needed.
- Conduct thorough, objective investigations into employee concerns and recommend appropriate outcomes. Escalate when appropriate and/or as needed.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings as needed and lead termination meetings as needed.
- Maintains HR Compliance Calendar and ensures organizational compliance.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures to align with evolving regulations and company practices.
- Superuser for Paylocity
- Utilize HRIS platforms to manage employee data, ensure data integrity, and generate regular HR metrics and reports.
- Support HR operations with data and insight to guide decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes through technology and automation.
- Assist with/lead HR projects and initiatives.
- Complete compliance audits.
- Support company-wide HR initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Draft department and company policies and procedures, SOPs, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Proven 5 years of progressive HR experience (multi-state preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing workflows and systems while maintaining a positive attitude.
- SHRM-CP or PHR strongly preferred.
- Experience with Paylocity is strongly preferred.
