As a People Engagement Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting employee engagement and retention efforts for our Behavior Technician (BT) team. This position focuses on proactive outreach, employee support, retention tracking, and gathering meaningful feedback to help improve the employee experience.
What You'll Do
Proactive Engagement & Retention Efforts
This part-time opportunity offers a flexible hybrid schedule, Monday through Friday, with 4.5-hour shifts totaling 22.5 hours per week. To support work-life balance and flexibility, team members may choose from the following schedule options while maintaining a consistent daily schedule: 9:00 AM–1:30 PM, 9:30 AM–2:00 PM, or 10:00 AM–2:30 PM.
To support collaboration and team connection, you will join us onsite at any of our New Jersey EI Centers located in Clark, Newark, Princeton, Voorhees or Jackson once per week for dedicated in-person time to build relationships, collaborate, and enjoy a little EI Center energy.

Here’s What You Can Expect
A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $24.00-$26.50 per hour. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and experience equity.

As a People Engagement Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting employee engagement and retention efforts for our Behavior Technician (BT) team. This position focuses on proactive outreach, employee support, retention tracking, and gathering meaningful feedback to help improve the employee experience.
What You'll Do
Proactive Engagement & Retention Efforts
- Monitor new-hire survey results and conduct outreach based on responses.
- Monitor critical Behavior Technician (BT) employee engagement data.
- Conduct stay-interview style outreach (calls, texts, or emails) to BTs demonstrating symptoms of low engagement to understand barriers, assess risk, and provide support.
- Document all outreach efforts, themes, and outcomes in tracking systems for reporting and follow-up.
- Escalate urgent concerns or high-risk retention cases to the Director of People Experience & Engagement or appropriate leadership.
- Complete exit outreach calls to all Behavior Technicians who separate from the organization to gather feedback on their experience.
- Use structured questions to identify trends related to turnover, engagement, supervision, scheduling, and overall satisfaction.
- Accurately record and summarize exit feedback, highlighting key insights and recurring issues.
- Escalate urgent concerns related to employee experience cases to the Director of People Experience & Engagement or appropriate leadership.
- Partner with HR and clinical leadership as needed to support retention interventions and follow-up actions.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date tracking of retention metrics, outreach activity, and feedback data.
- Assist in preparing weekly or monthly summaries of trends, risks, and opportunities related to employee retention.
- Support additional retention and engagement initiatives as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a professional, administrative, customer service, or HR-related role.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to conduct phone outreach professionally and empathetically.
- Comfortable having direct conversations with employees regarding performance concerns (e.g., cancellations) and exit feedback.
- Demonstrated ability to follow structured processes and complete high-volume outreach tasks consistently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accurate documentation of interactions and data.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) or similar systems; ability to track and manage data.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a part-time, task-driven role.
