As a Credentialing Specialist, you’ll manage the end-to-end credentialing process for ABA providers across multiple states and insurance plans. You’ll collect and verify licensure and demographic data, prepare applications, maintain accurate records, and keep internal teams informed—all while ensuring compliance with payor, state, and federal guidelines.
No credentialing experience? That’s okay! Candidates with backgrounds in customer service, call centers, or administrative support have excelled in this role thanks to their attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to stay organized.
What You'll Do
This role is hybrid, and you will be required to be in anyone of our MD EI Centers (Owings Mills or Beltsville) 2 - 3 days per MONTH. The core hours are 8:30AM to 5:00PM EST.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and experience equity.

What You'll Do
- Manage the credentialing process for new and existing ABA practitioners—gather documentation, complete applications, and track approvals across multiple states and insurance plans.
- Verify licensure and certifications for BCBAs, RBTs, and other clinicians, monitor expiration dates, and initiate timely re-credentialing.
- Serve as a key point of contact between providers, insurance payors, and internal teams—keeping everyone informed with clear, timely updates.
- Maintain accurate records in our EHR, payor portals, and internal tracking tools to ensure data integrity and audit readiness.
- Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring Medicaid guidelines, payor policies, and regulatory changes—suggesting improvements to keep our processes sharp.
- Support audits and documentation requests related to credentialing compliance.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Confident multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; comfortable handling phone and email inquiries.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel) and the ability to learn multiple web portals quickly.
- Positive, solution-oriented mindset and a passion for great customer service.
