Description:Children’s Safari Private School Reports To: Executive Director Position SummaryThe Program Support Specialist (Floater Teacher) provides flexible classroom and operational support across the school. This role assists teachers in maintaining safe, engaging, and well-managed learning environments while helping ensure classrooms remain in ratio and daily program operations run smoothly.The Program Support Specialist may work with multiple age groups throughout the day and supports classroom transitions, coverage for staff breaks or absences, and general program needs. This role is essential in maintaining consistency, supervision, and high-quality care for all scholars.Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom SupportProvide support across classrooms including infants, toddlers, preschool, and Pre-K as needed.Assist lead teachers with daily classroom activities, transitions, and supervision.Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for scholars.Support implementation of curriculum activities and classroom routines.Ratio & Coverage SupportAssist with maintaining proper staff-to-child ratios throughout the day.Provide classroom coverage during staff breaks, meetings, and absences.Support transitions such as arrival, meals, playground time, and dismissal.Scholar SupervisionMaintain active supervision of scholars at all times.Support positive behavior guidance and classroom expectations.Ensure scholars remain safe during indoor and outdoor activities.Program Operations SupportAssist with classroom setup, materials organization, and activity preparation.Support meal service and family-style dining practices.Help maintain cleanliness and organization in classrooms and shared spaces.Assist with school events, activities, and special programs.Documentation & CommunicationSupport teachers with daily documentation when needed.Assist with Playground app updates such as attendance or daily reports when assigned.Communicate classroom needs or concerns to leadership.Health & SafetyFollow all licensing regulations and school safety procedures.Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene practices are maintained.Report incidents, concerns, or injuries to leadership immediately.Requirements:QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required/ CDA/ AA degree preferredExperience working with young childrenAbility to work with multiple age groupsStrong teamwork and communication skillsAbility to remain flexible and adapt to program needsMust meet all state licensing requirementsKey CompetenciesFlexibility and adaptabilityActive supervision and safety awarenessTeam collaborationPositive communication with staff and scholarsDependability and professionalismWork EnvironmentThis position works in a fast-paced early childhood education environment and requires the ability to move between classrooms, engage with scholars throughout the day, and support various program operations.
