Behavior Specialist for Youth Residential Unit

Hiring Full Time, Part Time, and Relief workers. We have first, second, and third shift opportunities. The position is providing direct care and treatment to youth with behavioral and emotional needs in a short-term residential treatment setting. Hours vary with evenings, weekends, and holidays included. Bachelor’s degree or appropriate experience in human services, education, or related field required. Knowledge of trauma theory and interventions preferred. Experience with youth very important. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to pass background checks including BCI/FBI.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to: stand; walk; run; sit; talk; hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and physically restrain children. The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

In addition, the employee is regularly required to work early morning, late evening, weekend, and holiday shifts and be flexible with scheduled hours to cover unfilled shifts. The employee is occasionally required to work mandated overtime to cover unfilled shifts and/or work 2 shifts less than 8 hours apart.
